The possibility of a new test cricket series between India and Australia is not the only good news that GPL team is bringing you from down under. Brad Murphy has now officially taken up the role as head coach for the Dangerous Patras in the Greece Premier League 2021. Joining one of the biggest cricket leagues in Europe, he looks to use his experience as a coach and former player to make the Patras a competitive side.
The Greece Premier League has a commitment to active scouting programs and nourishing new and young talent. The league organisers need to look no further as Brad has been responsible for the coaching of stars such as Shane Watson, Ben Cutting, Andy Bichel, Sanju Samson and Usman Khawaja to name just a few. We are more than sure that he will uncover some hidden gems in his time with the Patras and create more superstars to add to his resume. He specialises in wicketkeeping and batting, being a former first grade wicketkeeper/batsman for Queensland County.
As much as he loves his roots, he also loves to travel and take the ‘Aussie way’ all over the world. Having coached for nearly three decades, he has had impressive stints with the Kolkata Knight Riders (coaching staff member), Netherlands senior team and the Afghanistan under 19 team (fielding coach). He also has ICC tournament experience having coached the Samoan women’s team as a wicketkeeping coach. The Greece Premier League has always had a commitment to selecting the best coaches for the maximum level of player development. Additionally, he has an incredible network of coaches that he often partners with in order to conduct coaching camps. The Greece Premier League has introduced another elite coach under its fold and is gearing up to be the biggest and most influential league in Europe.
